Hello Holidays...{Well, almost}
I am starting to plan out all of my holiday projects and upcoming blog post for the months ahead. I have everything from embroidery haunted houses to quilted tree skirts... and fun projects for holiday parties to take as a hostess gift, or Christmas gifts with your own personal touch {that you can make with less than a yard of fabric}. In about a week I will be starting my girls' Halloween costume's, and two new quilts. Along with some simple dress patterns I picked up at the quilt show in august.
I try to bring all avenues to the table and try everything once that is outside of my comfort zone. Sometimes I surprise myself and sometimes I completely bomb it and try again {or just hide it in one of my baskets for another day!} :)
I would love to hear from any of you that are reading. What projects do you find fun during the Holidays?

MY DAY WAS MADE this past weekend...
I decided to post my pink & black checkers quilt on Quilty magazine's facebook page, since that's where I found the pattern. I used their "lemonade stand" pattern from the July/Aug 2013 issue of {simple summer projects}. I didn't think anything would really come of it, but I like to share the work that I have done with the people/thing that had inspired me to do it.
I was happily amazed when I saw that not only did I get a comment back, but THEY SHARED MY PICTURE on {THEIR} page!!! It is very gratifying to see that someone besides those people who love me, think that I do good work! {smiling}
Thank you to all those who {liked} and {commented} on the picture.. If any of you ever see this, you all truly made my day!
Everyone pick up a copy for yourself and create something beautiful! Much love.

Back to School!
Hello All,
Mom and I have been pretty busy this past week sorting through the rooms, folding and organizing fabric and just trying to make sense of this whole blog thing.
The other night, I decided that I would try and do something fun for my oldest who is starting back at preschool this week. I thought that I would share with all of you the skirt that I made for her for her first day.
Janine and I purchased a book of patterns when we went to the Long Beach International Quilt Show this summer, because of this one particular skirt.
{Of course, as I am doing this post, I don't have the book on hand. So the name and the shop we purchased it from I will have to share once I get back home.}
The pattern was really easy to follow, and the skirt was really simple to make.. Didn't really take a long time, at all.
Some of our quilt tops...
Just some of our {unfinished} Quilt Tops.

Am I doing this thing right?!
Hello, Hello, Is
anybody out there?!
Here we go. I've been playing around with the idea of a
blog for some time, and finally decided to walk that plank and just dive right
in. The time is right. I'm {Holly} starting this beautifully, exciting and
scary endeavor with my Mother In
Law{Janine...who, for my own blogging sanity, on here will be known as MOM}.
Over the past 8
years she has taught me wonderful things, and we have created many projects
together{finished is another story!}. I mean, I couldn’t have asked for a
better teacher. She has been doing it since she was a little girl, with her
mom, and has every machine known to man…Let's put it this way, she has {THREE}
sewing rooms and an attic full of fabric...But we will save the details for a
later post. As of right now, with Bolts & Blocks in our near future, we are
working on organizing our controlled
chaos and figuring out what beautiful fabrics to cut into pieces and create
something awesome. Who would've thought
that could be so fun?!
One thing you will
either love or hate about me, I'm a planner.. There it is, I came out and said
it. I plan for "Christmas in July" as some like to put it. And it's
already August, so we better get started!
We look forward to
seeing what this holiday season will bring.
